Booking Information

Everything you might need to know.

Deposits

What are the deposit requirements?

An appointment is only reserved once you’ve paid a deposit. Each person getting a tattoo requires a deposit. To secure a booking, deposits are £100. For mini flash designs (1-1.5 inches or 3-4 cm), I take a £50 deposit. For day sessions, I take a £200 deposit.

What if I can't pay the full deposit amount right now?

If you’d like to secure a booking but don’t have the entire deposit now, that’s okay. You can pay a minimum of £25 to secure an appointment and pay the rest either on a day that suits you or in instalments. Either way, the deposit must be paid 1 week before our appointment.

Are deposits refundable and what is your rescheduling policy?

Deposits are non-refundable. Reschedules can be made up to 72 hours before our appointment. If you need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as you know so I can try to fill the slot. Reschedules made after 72 hours before our appointment will be subject to forfeit.

Anything else I should know about deposits?

Please include your full name in the deposit reference and where possible, send a deposit confirmation email.

Sizing

Should I use inches or centimetres?

I have lots of clients from all around the world that are more used to inches/cm. I recommend using the units you’re most comfortable with. I am used to working in both.

Why do I need to include a size?

I will base the length of time I allocate your appointment and the price quote I give you off this. If the size changes so will the time and cost of your tattoo.

In all methods of tattoo the size will affect the length of time the tattoo takes. Handpoke tattoos take much longer to tattoo to start with, however the size really impacts how long the tattoo will take even if it’s only as much as 1cm. If the piece is very detailed or with lots of filling in, even 0.5cm difference could take me 20-30 minutes longer to tattoo. So please be aware of this when specifying a size.

How specific with size do I need to be?

As specific as possible. Find a ruler or a tape measure please. Or be creative, best size references include: credit card, mac lipstick, custard cream biscuit. Obviously in cm or inches is best but if it helps to include a well known object by all means include it.

I can’t envision how the sizes will look, can I see & try them on before?

Of course! I will print you a variety of sizes at the start of the appointment. For example if you’ve asked for your design to be 5cm I will print a range of 5 or 6 designs from 4-6cm for you to have a look at and try on. You can choose any of these however the prices may alter depending on size so please let me know or remind me if you have a budget you need to stick to or ask the specific prices of each one.

What shouldn’t I do?

Give a wild guess. I think about sizing in cm and inches every day, not everyone does. If you’re unsure, please don’t guess as this will alter the time and price of your tattoo.

Say palm sized- this is way too vague. Everyone’s palms are different, I need more specific dimensions :)

Give a broad range - eg 5-10cm or 15-30cm
From the lowest size to the biggest size will take me double the amount of time and will cost much more. I cannot possibly allocate the right amount of time or quote you properly with such a broad range of sizing. Please be sure within 20% of the total size.

Budget and Sizing

Can we discuss prices and sizes before the appointment?

I’m always happy to discuss prices with you at the start of or before the appointment. Please do give me as much notice as possible if you'd like to amend the sizing of your tattoo. The sizing will impact the timing of your appointment. Please make sure to let me know your budget and ask which sizes will cost which prices.

What happens if I want the design to be larger than originally planned?

If you’d like to have the design bigger, the tattoo will take longer and the price will increase. If you’d like a bigger design but need to stick to a budget, sometimes—but not always—we can simplify the design and take away some detail to accommodate for this.

Placement

Why do I need to include a placement when enquiring about the tattoo?

Can I change the placement on the day of the appointment?

We will always have time to decide or change, for example, which part of your arm the tattoo will go on. But if you’d like to switch from an arm placement to, say, your tummy or lower back, we might not have enough time for this as these placements can take much longer to tattoo.

What if I'm not sure about the stencil or need time to decide?

We will always make sure the stencil is perfect and you’re 100% happy before we start. We can move the stencil in the area you’ve chosen as many times as you need, so please don’t worry or feel rude doing this! I want us both to feel 100% confident the tattoo is in the right place. Even if you need 5-10 minutes to think about it, deliberate, or send pictures to your person, that’s totally okay.

Why is specifying the placement important for Cora?

My body and well-being are also important to me as an artist. Certain placements are more strenuous for me to tattoo than others—for instance, back or chest—as I will be leaning over you for a long period of time. This is another reason I ask for a specific placement, as I will try not to book these placements one after the other to give my body more recovery time.

Custom

Do you tattoo custom designs?

I love hearing your ideas for customs so please feel free to send them over!

I only take so many customs per month so you may have to wait a little longer for your custom design to be made.
I will only create a custom with you if I feel I can confidently create the best design for you in my own style.

Some designs will not suit my style or will not be suitable to create with handpoke tattoo.

What kind of reference pictures should I send?

Please send over as many pictures as you feel relevant. These can include:

  • Images from my flash designs
  • Photographs

Feel free to let me know which elements you’d like to be incorporated from each of the reference pictures.

What kind of designs should I avoid sending?

Please don’t send:

  • Designs from other artists
  • Designs you found on Pinterest (these were made by other artists)
  • Designs you found on Google (these were also made by other artists)

Chat and Draw

What are chat and draw sessions?

Most custom design appointments will be chat and draw sessions. Usually, chat and draw sessions will be between 2-6 hours long depending on what you would like and the size and placement.

What happens at the start of the appointment?

At the start of the appointment, we will look over the description of what you’d like and the photos you’ve sent me. This will give you an opportunity to explain what you like about them and explain in detail how you’d like the piece to look.

How long will we typically spend drawing?

We will be drawing for anywhere between 20 minutes to 3 hours. This usually depends on how complicated the design is or whether you want to try different ideas out first.

Can we amend the design during the session?

We will amend the design until you are completely happy with it, and then we will print it out in different sizes so you can try it out and see what works with the placement(s) you’ve chosen. If it needs to be altered, we can do so.

What happens after I'm happy with the design and size?

Once you’re happy with the design and you’ve chosen the size, I’ll create the stencil and we’ll put it on; then we tattoo!

Do you offer longer chat and draw sessions?

I do offer chat and draw day sessions of 8-10 hours, so if you’d like to book a larger piece or multiple designs, feel free to enquire.

Tricky areas

Ribs

I usually tend not to tattoo ribs as they take much longer and the position you need to be in will be uncomfortable to ensure the skin in the area is stretched. This area is also more painful that other areas. If that doesn’t put you off, we may be able to tattoo your ribs but due to how long it will take it will cost more than other placements.

Hands & fingers

Please be aware the healing process for hand and finger tattoos can be a little tricky. We are always using our hands and they’re pretty much always uncovered. Therefore hand and finger placements can be much more likely to fade or dropout.
If you’d like to book in for a hand/finger tattoo please ensure you can return to London or I’m due to guest in your city so, if needed, you can get them touched up. Touch ups are always free
